Rare Drafts from Japan’s Shiga Kogen Tamamura Honten

December 3, 2015 @ 5:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Spuyten Duyvil

  359 Metropolitan Ave., Brooklyn, NY11211

Family-run Tamamura Honten has been brewing sake since 1805. Ten years ago, they started brewing beers under the Shiga Kogen name. Located in snowy Nagano, they use water from the local hot springs to brew their beer and grow their own hops, barley, wheat, sake rice, and buckwheat.

Join us at Spuyten Duyvil for some rare kegs at their NYC debut:

  • IPA – balanced West Coast-style IPA
  • Africa Pale Ale – a combination of English, American, and Japanese hops, with mostly pils malt. Called “Africa” because it’s somewhere between an English Pale Ale and an India Pale Ale.
  • So Sexy Brown – collaboration with Pizza Port
  • No. 10 – a commemorative IPA, celebrating the brewery’s 10th anniversary
  • Miyama Blonde – hoppy blonde ale brewed with sake rice
  • House IPA – stronger version of their IPA (8.5%). Light, dry, floral, and shockingly easy to drink.
