I must admit, championing Italian craft beer is pretty easy when you leave it to brewmasters like Giovanni Campari. Birrificio del Ducato have tirelessly pushed the boundaries of creativity since their inception in 2007. Melding traditional processes from the world’s great brewing regions with a passion for innovation, their talented team has created beer that is truly a reflection of their Italian heritage.
We’ve opted to focus on some of their more extreme offerings in an effort to highlight this knack for brewing outside of the box. Giovanni will be here to help guide you through some of these wild masterpieces!
Check it out:
Gose style ale aged nine months and blended from several barrels, blended back with an unaged ale that was brewed with Himilayan pink salt, further aged in Bavarian blue/gray granite as a part of B. United International’s Zymatore program.

A blend of 82% ‘Nuova Mattina’ (a Saison brewed with wild flowers, chamomile, coriander, green peppercorn and ginger) and 18% year and a half old Drie Fonteinen Lambic.

Beer/sake hybrid made from barley, wheat and rice, with additions of Japanese green tea and jasmine flowers. Fermented with a technique used for the production of sake with yellow koji borrowed from the great Kiuchi Brewery.

Collaboration with Oxbow Brewing Company! A base of an unsoured brown ale, partially fermented in stainless with a clean ale yeast and partially matured in barrels that had previously contained ‘Chrysopolis’ (Ducato’s wine barrel aged take on Lambic) that was blended back and matured further in freshly dumped Brunello barrels.

And if you ever get the chance to visit them in Parma, I would HIGHLY recommend it!
