Budweiser is picking at the craft beer crowd again, this time with what they hope to pass off as a great “gotcha” moment.
The big beer producer set up in a Brooklyn bar during NYC Beer Week and offered patrons a blind sample. “If you’re a beer drinker, you will apprecaite this,” the bartender says as he serves up the golden brew, casually mentioning the beer is a “139-year-old recipe,” “American tradition,” and “aged in beachwood.” The Brooklynites unanimously like it, and, “Gotcha!” what they are drinking is actually Budweiser.
We’re obviously supposed to believe that these otherwise would-be craft beer drinkers think Budweiser is great, but who do they think they’re fooling?
(Update: a source has indicated that the bar featured in the video is The Shop Brooklyn, a BBQ bar and restaurant that will be opening soon in Bushwick.)
