New Release: Bushwick Pilsner by Braven Brewing Company

Just in time for summer, Braven Brewing Company has announced their newest release: Bushwick Pilsner, which is due out in June.
Bushwick Pilsner was created based on historic recipes that were commonly brewed in Brooklyn’s “Brewer’s Row.”
Like their flagship beer, White IPA, we can expect Bushwick Pilsner to be an easy-drinking, light-bodied beer that we’ll want to reach for throughout the warmer summer months. Unlike White IPA, Bushwick Pilsner will be available on draft and in 12 ounce bottles, making it a perfect companion for barbecues and rooftop parties.

BROOKLYN, N.Y. (April 30, 2014) – Brooklyn-based Braven Brewing Company today confirmed the June release of Bushwick Pilsner, a beer based on the historic recipes that dominated Brooklyn’s “Brewer’s Row” from the 1870’s to the 1970’s.
“We’re excited to introduce our Bushwick Pilsner this summer as it’s the first commercially available version of this classic style since the last working brewery closed here in 1976,” says Braven co-founder Marshall S. Thompson. “As with our White IPA, this is an easy-drinking, light-bodied beer perfect for summer rooftop parties and BBQs, but for craft beer lovers who appreciate the hops being toned down a bit. Your granddad would love this beer.”
The brewing legacy of Bushwick, and Brooklyn as a whole, is one that looms large. By the late nineteenth century the borough was a major producer, churning out 10% of the beer consumed in America. Bushwick’s ‘Brewer’s Row’ at one point boasted 14 breweries operating simultaneously in a 14-block area.
Focused on creating crisp, perfectly balanced beers, Braven’s currently available flagship offering—Braven White, a hop-strong, easy-drinking wheat IPA—has been championed by craft beer lovers and can be found on carefully curated beer menus found at Brooklyneer, Irvington, Riverpark, The Rookery, Heavy Woods and more. Bushwick Pilsner will be available at Clinton Hall, Bierkraft, Ginger Man, Pine Box Rock Shop and many more throughout New York, Long Island, and Westchester. Braven Black, a session-able, dark spin on the Pale Ale, will be released this fall.
