Threes Brewing is planning to open a production facility in Long Island’s North Fork.
According to The Suffolk Times, plans to expand an industrial park in Cutchogue are intended to make room for the Gowanus-based brewpub.
The North Fork area is already home to dozens of wineries, as well as a handful of breweries, including Greenport Harbor Brewing Co. Threes brewer and co-owner Greg Doroski grew up in the area, and used to brew at Greenport.
The move to open a larger brewing facility in the area would mark a kind of homecoming for Doroski, and indicate plans for increased production of beer, notably for their barrel-aging program, as well as their can and bottle offerings, which have been well-received since the initial release four months ago.
A former brewer at Greenport Harbor Brewing Co., Mr. Doroski, 35, said it’s always been his dream to own a brewery in his hometown. With Threes Brewing quickly growing out of its 1,000-square-foot production space in Brooklyn, Mr. Doroski and partners Justin Israelson and Josh Stylman are looking to Cutchogue as an opportunity to increase their production space for barreling and bottling.
There are currently have plans to open a retail or tasting room operation in the new Long Island location. The new brewing facility is still in the early stages, but we will keep you updated with the progress as we learn more.
