The first organic beer produced in New York state will be hitting shelves this fall. Smart Beer will be rolling out Organic Golden Ale to consumers in bars, restaurants and retailers over the coming weeks.
Based in New Paltz in New York’s Hudson Valley, Smart Beer brews with certified organic and non-GMO ingredients. Organic Golden Ale comes in at 5.5% ABV, and is “brewed with herbal ingredients for a pure, clean, crisp, refreshing taste.”
Smart Beer was was founded by Gabriel Heymann, who splits his time between Brooklyn and the Hudson Valley. Heymann sits on the board of directors of the Rockland Farm Alliance, is an active yoga instructor, and has an extensive professional background in fitness and well-being. Smart Beer was born from his desire to enjoy his social life without compromising his healthy, active lifestyle. With this in mind, he founded a brewery that promises to make beer from sustainable ingredients and supports his social and environment values.
